Hard Candy

Saying Hard Candy is fantastic would be inadequate. It is supercalifragilisticespialidocious. And such. This is one of those movies that you just have to see. Yes, YOU. So go see it.

Tegan and Sara

I semi-promised myself that my next post would be a guy oriented one, so as not to throw out a completely lesbian vibe to this blog. However, I failed. That's right, I failed not only my blog, but myself as well. I just couldn't resist proclaiming my love for Tegan and Sara.

MEGAN FOX

is a fox.
I'm pretty sure that I have a strong love/hate thing for her. I hate her b/c she is so hot, and she has a "thing" with Shia, who is supposed to be my "thing" when I get rich and famous. I love her b/c...well, she's hot, and she has tattoos and she may just be the next Angelina Jolie. Which, if you ask me, it's about time she got replaced.

Sally's Song

I feel there's something in the wind
That feels like tragedy's at hand
And though I'd like to stand by him
Can't shake this feeling that I have
The worst is just around the bend.
And does he notice my feelings for him?
And will he see how much he means to me?
I think It's not to be.
What will become of my dear friend?
Where will his actions lead us then?
Although I'd like to join the crowd
In their enthusiastic cloud
Try as I may, it doesn't last.
And will we ever end up together?
No, I think not, we're never to become
For I am not The One.

I've recently become obsessed with this song from Nightmare Before Christmas by Tim Burton. It's just such a sad little song, how could I resist it? I've found I have quite the prediliction for these sad little lullaby-esque songs.

Dr. Horrible's Sing Along Blog

Neil Patrick Harris as Dr. Horrible

NPH is fantastic. I would've never guessed he had such a great singing voice. Shit, I didn't even know who the hell he was before Harold and Kumar Go To White Castle. Shows how much I know. Also Nathan Fillion (my 3rd husband) and Felicia Day are in this Joss Whedon production. I just can't get enough of it, even though it is massively depressing. I can't help being addicted.

ZOOEY DESCHANEL

I have fallen completely and utterly in love with Zooey Deschanel. Recently I rented a movie called The Good Life, starring some random bald kid and is about his life in a small town. His life is very depressing, as is the movie. However Zooey Deschanel portrays a beautiful if insane girl who pretends to be Judy Garland. The best part is where she sings to an old dude, as I feel her voice is gorgeous, thus half of my love and devotion to her. She also sang in Elf, and it was awesome. I really need to see Yes Man now, because she is amazing and I am obsessed with her. I also need to buy her cd. And become her lesbian lover.

I would totally kiss Zooey Deschanel. Even though Katy Perry is her look-alike, I would not kiss Katy Perry. Because Zooey is awesome and Katy is not. Zooey even has a better name. That's right. Bitch. Slap.

Fiona Apple

In the 90's I was in-freaking-love with this girl. I mean, really. What could be better than Criminal? Her low, throaty, depressively emotional voice sent me all a-shiver. I found her again while purusing the library's cd choices. They have both of her cd's, and I am in love once again. I have chosen a new song of hers to be obsessed with, though it is still from the first album.

THE CHILD IS GONE
Darling, give me your absence tonight
Take the shade from the canvas and leave me the white
Let me sink in the silence that echoes inside
And dont bother leaving the light on
cuz I suddenly feel like a different person
From the roots of my soul come a gentle coercion
And I ran my hand o'er a strange inversion
A vacancy that just did not belong
The child is gone

Honey help me out of this mess
Im a stranger to myself
But dont reach for me, Im too far away
I dont wanna talk cuz theres nothing left to say
So my
Darling, give me your absence tonight
Take all of your sympathy and leave it outside
cuz theres no kind of loving that can make this all right
Im trying to find a place I belong
And I suddenly feel like a different person
From the roots of my soul come a gentle coercion
And I ran my hand over a strange inversion
As the darkness turns into the dawn
The child is gone
The child is gone

She Had The World - Panic! at the Disco

She held the world upon a string
But she didn't ever hold me
Spun the stars on her fingernails
But it never made her happy
Cause she couldn't ever have me

She said she won the world at a carnival
But she could never win me
Cause she couldn't ever catch me

I, I know why
Because when I look in her eyes
I just see the sky
When I look in her eyes
Well I, just see the sky

I don't love you I'm just passing the time
You could love me if I knew how to lie
But who could love me?
I am out of my mind
Throw an old line out to sea
To see if I can catch a dream

The sun was always in her eyes
She didn't even see me
But that girl had so much love
She'd wanna kiss you all the time
Yeah, she'd wanna kiss you all the time

She said she won the world at a carnival
But I'm sure it didn’t ruin her
Just made her more interesting
I'm sure it didn’t ruin her
Just made her more interesting

I, I know why
Because when I look in her eyes
I just see the sky
When I look in her eyes
Well I, I just see the sky

I don't love you I'm just passing the time
You could love me if I knew how to lie
But who could love me?
I am out of my mind
Throw an old line out to sea
To see if I can catch a dream

I suppose this is my latest song obsession. This is from Panic's latest album. Sammi bought it a couple months ago, and on the first listen through, we thought the album was a dud. But it grew on me, especially this song. It's very Beatles-esque. Muy divertido!

Chasing Pavements - Adele

I've made up me mind
Don't need to think it over
If I'm wrong I am right
Don't need to look no further
This ain't lust
I know this is love

If I tell the world
I'll never say enough
Cos it was not said to you
And that's exactly what I need to do
If I end up with you

Should I give up
Or should I just keep chasing pavements
Even if it leads no where,
Or would it be a waste
Even if I knew my place should I leave it there.
Should I give up
Or should I just keep chasing pavements
Even if it leads nowhere

I build myself up
And fly around in circles
Waiting as my heart drops
And my back begins to tingle
Finally could this be it or

Should I give up
Or should I just keep chasing pavements
Even if it leads nowhere,
Or would it be a waste
Even if I knew my place should I leave it there.
Should I give up
Or should I just keep chasing pavements
Even if it leads nowhere

Should I give up
Or should I just keep chasing pavements
Even if it leads nowhere,
Or would it be a waste
Even if I knew my place
Should I leave it there

*Should* I give up
Or should I just keep chasing pavements
Even if it leads nowhere

Should I give up
Or should I just keep chasing pavements
Even if it leads nowhere
Or would it be a waste
Even if I knew my place
Should I leave it there

Should I give up
Or should I just keep on chasing pavements
Should I just keep on chasing pavements

Should I give up
Or should I just keep on chasing pavements
Even if it leads nowhere
Or would it be a waste
Even if I knew my place
Should I leave it there

Should I give up
Or should I just keep on chasing pavements
Even if it leads nowhere

This song is another one of my optimistic finds. Also the music video is very cute. And Adele's voice is amazing. She's also got that chubby thing going on that is rarely seen in female performers anymore, so yeah, go her.
