This Book is Full of Spiders - David Wong

I am super duper excited because I just checked my mail today (possibly the first time in a month? Idk, there was a lot of mail in there) and finally got my copy of This Book Is Full of Spiders!

As with JDATE, I originally read this when it was available online about 5 years ago. I don't remember what the fuck happened in it though, so re-reading it will be a complete pleasure. Especially since it's in book form and not shitty webpage form. Sorry Jason Pargin, you know it's true.

Anyway, I think I might take a break from my fifty-thousand television shows to actually read a book again. Or, ya know, I'll just read it at work and on the shitter. We shall see. I am super psyched though, and it's very inspiring to see the amount of shit that comes up on Tumblr about the book.

...like this adorable child-thing
So yeah. If you want a dose of awesome-sauce in your life, read this book. Or just resign yourself to a life of "meh". It's your call.

Patton Oswalt

So Netflix just recommended I watch Comedians of Comedy: Live at the Troubador, and I am so glad I did. I needed some funny in my life right now. In any case it renewed my love for Patton Oswalt. This man is super funny. I basically agree with everything he says. And he reminds me of one of my friends a little bit.

Also he was recently in Young Adult, which is a movie I'm a little in love with currently, and United States of Tara which is da bomb. Oddly enough, those are both products of Diablo Cody's genius. Which is probably why I like them.

This bit, Sky Cake, is from one of his stand-ups, and should not be watched if you are overly religious/lack the ability to laugh at religion. That's about it. Okay, well, also this clip of Food For Thought, which as an ex-grocery store slave kind of tickled my fancy. Yeah, and I'd probably let Blaine Capatch tickle any and every fancy. That made no sense. *cough*

John Dies at the End - David Wong

John Dies at the End is a personal favorite of mine and has been since I  first read it online one incredibly boring winter (possibly in 2007?). I hate reading books via any digital device, but I persevered for this story. I could not stop. No matter how much eyestrain resulted, IT WAS WORTH IT. Not everybody will love this book, I'm not saying that. What I'm saying is that if you are a worthwhile human being, you will. It is one huge mindfuck dick joke that still manages to be brilliant. And a little creepy.

The best part is that it became available in print. Buy it. It's no longer available to read on a shitty white on black website. I own it, there's no shame in buying a book. David Wong aka. Jason Pargin, Senior Editor of Cracked.com wrote it, so obviously it's funny. Funny is good for you.

Anyway, double awesome is the fact that it's now a movie! I am pants-shittingly excited to see it.

Here's the trailer:

And the fun doesn't stop there, no siree bub! The sequel This Book is Full of Spiders: Seriously Dude, Don't Touch It is out October 2!!! So I guess what I'm saying here is that I'm basically just buying new underwear a lot b/c of all the shitting. Join me in the fun.
