She Wolf - Shakira

I am simultaneously aroused and terrified. I'm not entirely sure whether this is a good or bad thing, but it's probably the appropriate response.

Starstrukk - 3OH!3 featuring Katy Perry

I was going to start off by saying I can't believe I've never heard this song before, but it's actually pretty believable. For all that I do think 3OH!3 are a swell band, I just don't like techno-y trance music all that much. It's entirely possible I have heard this song before and just didn't notice. So, yeah. But I do happen to like this song. Mostly because I'm a sucker for wolf whistling. And, don't hate me again, but Katy Perry. I do heart me some Katy.

I blame my mother. She started me off young on the pop music and I have never totally kicked it, to be perfectly honest. It's like sugar for your ears. Sweet addictive sugar. There are no AA type meetings to kick this addiction. I'm sorry. At least I mostly limit myself to Katy Perry. Maybe some Gaga. Usually when I'm drunk.

Rise of the Lyric Video

This is random, but I've just recently noticed this thing artists seem to be doing lately. You know it if you have access to YouTube at all. The Lyric Video appears to be an official sort of thing artists are releasing prior to an actual music video. For a while I just thought it was some youtubers dicking around more skillfully, but then a light bulb went on inside my head and I noticed that, no, the labels are actually doing this.

Hey, I never said I was the brightest or the quickest light bulb. I'm more of an old fluorescent...I'm just going to stop there. I am horrible with metaphors.

Anyway, what I mean to say is...I like them. I am happy about this new direction. Mostly because I am obsessed with lyrics. So yeah. Yay and stuffs. Here are a few of my favorite lyric videos:)

Madness - Muse

Madness is a song from Muses' new album The 2nd Law. Thanks to one of Sammi's friends, I found out they had a new album. And I found this song. It is soooo sexxxy. Interesting word to describe a song? Maybe, but seriously, listen to the beat. It pulses. It is impossible for me to not move my body. And obviously Matt's voice is just as gorgeous as it has always been. Too bad about that face.

Something about the beat and harmonies also reminds me of...I'm thinking something Queen. Can't quite put my finger on it though. I Want To Break Free? Maybe it just feels like Queen. Which, honestly, is never a bad thing. Everybody should channel a little Freddie. Possibly it's the crazy amount of synths making me think about Queen. I dunno, I'm crazy. It's madness I tell you! MADNESS!

But seriously, it's going to drive me crazy trying to figure out what this song reminds me of.

Might as well dance!

5 Years Time - Noah and the Whale

This song always puts me in the best mood. 5 Years Time is like the most joyful little daydream, but how could anything with a ukulele and whistling not be? Lyrically, it is only slightly more complex. Basically he's giving a bunch of happy examples of what he and his lady could be in 5 years, and then a couple not so happy ones. He explains this is all in his head, but the thoughts still make him happy. Even if in 5 years time they no longer know each other, he knows love will follow her. Who hasn't made up scenarios in their head of their future with or without someone? I know I do pretty constantly.

How could I not love this song?
